Fight for the Tsar in Europa Universalis IV: Third Rome

Europa Universalis IV: Third Rome is an immersion pack for Europa Universalis IV. This pack focuses on the Russian empire, which styled itself as the legitimate successor to the Byzantine Empire -- thus, the 'third Rome.' This pack adds new features for players playing as Russia or Russian-cultured nations. These will change not only the look and feel of the Russian experience but also the strategy of playing this powerful empire.

For the Motherland

Europa Universalis IV: Third Rome adds several new features to Russia. It adds new ranks to the Russian government hierarchy, with accompanying new abilities. For instance, the Tsar can now claim an entire State rather than just a province. Religious icons boost the empire's abilities, with different saints conferring different powers. It adds Metropolitans, a new religious rank, as well as the elite Streltsy, the musketeers of the royal bodyguard. These two new units have strong abilities, but both are costly. A new frontier mechanic allows Russia to gradually colonise border regions as long as they're uninhabited. In addition to these features, there are cosmetic changes, including new unit graphics and portraits. The immersion pack also comes with a free update for the base game.
